What is a car designer’s job?
Designing a new car means resolving differences between personal expression and market reality. Car designers have to work closely with development and manufacturing engineers, exterior and interior designers, modellers, and ergonomic engineers.
New design proposals must consider input from many of other sources. Toyota designers work to specifications created by sales and marketing based on market research and trend and target group analysis. In addition they must also consider national preferences of car owners.
During this highly complex process, the original design idea is reviewed and redefined over and over again. After hundreds of sketches and proposals have been perused the most preferred clay models are produced for the Toyota board to view.
